PI-12 Complete

The IAM Program has been linking our long-term roadmap to our two-week sprint activities through the process of Program Increment planning for 3 years now. IAM just completed our 12th consecutive quarter using this process and three years into our efforts we continue to improve on each iteration. This quarter's highlights include:

  • The completion of one of our yearly objectives: Provisioning of the HKS Active Directory via the University provisioning system (IIQ)
  • Provisioning of identities to a new Unified LDAP instance which will allow us to decommission 10 physical servers in the coming quarter
  • Completion of the design for O365 self-service via HarvardKey next quarter (our second yearly goal)
  • Read-only database to the cloud which is a significant step toward full database migration later this year (after Commencement)
  • Significant data and process cleanup to optimize our identity infrastructure, provide a more secure environment, and ensure a good user experience for our customer base
  • Lots of updates to our systems (88 changes processed in this quarter, double PI-11)
  • 72 new applications protected by HarvardKey (almost double from PI-11)
  • 3200 tickets closed by IAM staff

Overall this quarter was a tremendous success and sets us up for continued improvements as we close out the year over the next two quarters. We will post next week with our objectives for PI-13. For full details about PI-12 please see the two attached documents.
