Changes to the Harvard Guest Sign-in Experience on June 17th
On Tuesday, June 17, 2025 we will be making an update to the Harvard Guest authentication system. Once the update is complete, you will need to reset your password before signing in.
What do I need to do?
Beginning on June 17 at 7:00 AM:
- Click the Forgot Password link on the Harvard Guest Sign In screen and follow the prompt to reset your password.
If you attempt to sign in prior to resetting your password, you will receive an “Incorrect username or password” error after entering your email and current password.
What is a Harvard Guest Account?
Harvard Guest Accounts are used by communities who fall outside traditional Harvard University roles in order to access specific Harvard applications. You may have used a Guest Account to access one of the following applications:
- CARAT (Centralized Application for Research and Travel) - An online tool for Harvard students and external applicants to apply for funding or programs in research, service, study abroad, and travel.
- Language Exchange - Pairs Harvard community members for informal conversation in their target language.
- Horatio - Used by Residential Life Office to manage applications, references, and review for residential life positions.
- Canvas - Learning management system used for course websites.
